This page is currently a work in progress! I am currently working on projects within the club.
Girls Who Code
Girls Who Code is an international non-profit organization that bridges the gaps between women and technological (STEM) fields. I had the opportunity to join the program during my first year of high school, and from there, I started a chapter at Punahou and participated in the Summer Immersion Program.
Becoming part of the Girls Who Code Sisterhood has allowed me to make friends throughout the state and country. It has allowed me to find a community I can consider a home in a strongly male-dominated field of study.
Summer Immersion Program
The Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program (GWC SIP) is a two-week immersive that allows high school students all over the nation to learn different computer science topics. SIP is a two-week virtual program based on the mainland (meaning classes start at 6 am HST). Throughout the program, I learned more about web development and the coding languages associated (HTML, CSS, and JS), as well as about different women in technological fields. Each day, as part of the lesson, we learned about a different woman. That was one of the most valuable experiences of the program. It is challenging for women in STEM fields, but joining the GWC sisterhood, where I have made friends from around the island and even Maryland, and applying what I've learned to my everyday life has pushed me to work harder.
SIP also partners with companies such as Riot Games and Johnson and Johnson. The company I was partnered with was Ansys. Ansys is an engineering simulation software company. They shared potential job opportunities in their company, stories from the women in the company, and an activity that used physics.
Overall, SIP was an experience that I won't forget. I made new friends and learned more about programming and job opportunities for me in the future.

About Me
This was the first project I did during SIP. It was a project to introduce ourselves to those in our groups.
I chose to include the clubs I am in, songs I like, photos from bowling season, and my favorite video games.
Personality Quiz
What Princess Are You?
I chose to make my personality quiz based on Disney princesses' personality types to determine what color one is: blue, yellow, brown, or grey.
